I recently spoke with one of my advisory board members who has been instrumental in working with First Nations groups engaging business to do better business by engaging programs that support their Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP)
We discovered an untapped opportunity to have regular discovery network meetings be a path to RAP success.
With 193 of the ASX top 200 boards having Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) leaders on their boards - Their reputation as leaders is compelling and a unique opportunity to grow social impact through innovation and continuous improvement exists.
Here how it is, I see things very simply.
In the world of progress and change, visionary leaders stand out as catalysts for innovation and societal betterment. Beyond their titles and positions, these individuals wield their influence to create lasting positive impacts on both the business world and society at large. They do this by nurturing an environment of creativity and pushing the boundaries of what's possible, these leaders are instrumental in shaping a brighter future for all of us.
But what happens when that leadership title is gone?
I remember when Brian Hartzer was CEO of Westpac and supported meetmagic with a couple of meetings. Everybody wanted to meet Brian, my phone was off the hook, but as soon as Brian left Westpac and became a consultant, no one wanted to talk to Brian. Opportunity gone.
In the corporate world, effective leaders inspire their teams to embrace innovation fearlessly. They foster a culture where ideas are welcomed, and mistakes are seen as stepping stones toward improvement. By encouraging experimentation and supporting calculated risks, they pave the way for breakthroughs that lead to revolutionary products, services, processes and new revenue streams. Their forward-thinking mindset cultivates a workforce that is motivated, engaged, and continuously seeking new ways to stay ahead in a competitive landscape. Thats where meetmagic comes in.
Visionary leaders understand that their position of influence doesn't last forever but while they have it, extends beyond the walls of their organisations. They recognise the responsibility and opportnity to contribute positively to society, and they leverage their platforms to do so, By championing corporate social responsibility initiatives, they address environmental challenges, champion social causes, and invest time in supporting community based developments. Through these actions, they set an example for others in the business world, inspiring a ripple effect of positive change throughout society.
These leaders actively engage with change makers, advocating internally for programs and policies that foster innovation, sustainability, and equitable growth. By collaborating with other leaders and stakeholders, they drive transformative changes that benefit society as a whole.
Leaders who utilise this privileged window of opportunity to promote innovation and societal well-being are instrumental in shaping a better world.
They leave a lasting legacy that extends far beyond their tenure or speaking on stage. As we continue to embrace a future of possibilities, I'd like us recognise and celebrate the invaluable contributions of these visionary leaders who strive to create a brighter and more promising tomorrow by leveraging their Title, Position & Influence.
Because once its gone, the opportunity goes with it.
